Green Man Plaques

"From The Greenwood" is an extensive range of green man wall plaques. The range was sculpted by David Lawrence and is made by us using resin bonded Cotswold or Portland stone and also cast in an antique bronze finish. All the green man plaques are suitable for outdoors and come with a pre-drilled hanging hole. The replica stone plaques will weather and take on the appearance of natural stone.

About David Lawrence

David is an illustrator and sculptor based in Somerset with over 30 years experience assembling a broad portfolio of work. The idea for a green man plaque came from his "restless imagination". This led to a large range of green man garden wall plaques, but of course they would look just as good indoors!

About The Green Man

A Green Man is generally a carving surrounded by leaves with branches or vines sprouting from the nose, mouth, nostrils or other parts of the face. You can often see a green man plaque or carving in churches or cathedrals - they started to appear in Medieval times as a result of the flourishing style of Gothic architecture in the late 12th century. A green man wall plaque can be humorous, grotesque and divine - what these creatures mean is not known but there are many theories.

"From The Greenwood" Green Men

This is an extensive range of green man wall plaques with nearly 30 designs in the range. Made by History Craft, these reconstituted stone plaques are weatherproof and start in size from 110mm and go up to 300mm.
